Nature² Startup And Maintenance For Pools

Nature² Cartridge Startup
1.
Super-oxidize (shock) the pool. On the first day, super-oxidize the water with 1 lb. dry or 1 gallon liquid chlorine per 10,000 gallons of water to burn off contaminants and to activate the cartridge.
2.
To activate the Nature² cartridge, you must either: Run the pump and filter system 24 hours a day for 4 days, or; Run the pump and filter system 6 hours a day for 14 days.
3.
Maintain 1-2 parts per million residual chlorine level throughout the activation period.
4.
Once the Cartridge Activation period is complete, let the chlorine residual drop to 0.4 - 0.6 ppm. Follow the maintenance recipe. Note: This procedure must be followed whenever installing a new cartridge.

Nature² When Do I Replace The Cartridge?
In snowbelt regions (3-6 month pool season), discard your used cartridge when you close your pool at the end of the season. Startup with a new cartridge when you open your pool in the spring.
In sunbelt regions (7-12 month pool season), change the cartridge every 6 months whether or not you plan to use the pool for swimming.

If the water starts to look hazy, super-oxidize (shock) using 1 lb. of chlorine granules or 1 lb. of non-chlorine oxidizer per 10,000 gallons of water. Add cyanuric acid to maintain 50 parts per million.
Note: After heavy use or rainstorms, additional super-oxidation treatments are recommended.
